9th Annual Menehune Surf Contest Saturday April 25
The surf gods were smiling on our event as La Jolla Shores, once
again, produced sunshine and waves for what turned out to be an
awesome event - the Menehune Surf Contest and Gathering of the
Crew. The one day event hosted 180 contestants in shortboard,
longboard, and novice divisions for kids ages 18 & under. We also
hosted special heats for fun loving adults, including our "Moms of
Groms" and club member divisions. Thanks to all your support, we
raised over $5,000 to benefit local charities. Please check out our
sponsor page to see all the cool stuff donated by our sponsors,
whose support allows us to give back! We now have the official
contest RESULTS posted ...Mahalo!

Grom Art Contest announces winner! Sponsored by La Jolla
Shores Surfing Association in conjunction with Ando & Friends, we are
pleased to congratulate our Grand Prize Winner Eunji Cho of Bonita
Vista High School. Eunji's artwork pictured at right was featured on
the menehune surf contest event t-shirts. Our top finalists and other
selected pieces were on exhibit at the LJ Riford Library in April & May.

Monthly Meetings: 4th Wednesday @ 6:30 pm
LJSSA club meetings occur January-October of most months at the
La Jolla Recreation Center on 615 Prospect St. We take a break
during the winter holidays and don't meet in November and
December. Our meetings are open and you're invited. We're on
summer hiatus - but if you'd like to plan a fun get together or
reason to meet - give us a holler!
