Beach Cleanups
Monday, July 5th @ La Jolla Shores - the DAY after....
About 30 people turned out for our annual cleanup the day after - we
picked up a lot of garbage, but this year was 'light' compared to others.
Thanks to Damon for cooking his signature bacon, pancakes, hash
browns and egg breakfast!   If you'd like to help us get more active and

10th Annual Menehune Contest April 17, 2010 - a BIG success!
This year we were fortunate to be welcoming back many of our faithful contest sponsors
from year's past.  Check out our sponsors' offerings of great prizes and in kind
donations offered for our goodie bags, prizes, raffle and silent auction. Because of them
and the great support from our 2010 contestants and families, we were able to raise
over $5,000 to donate back to charity.  All Division finalists (1st - 6th place) received
prizes, and ALL participants received goodie bags with t-shirts, hats, surf wax, and REEF
sandals.  A few of our lucky division winners (jr. men 13-15 and boys 10-12) won a
surfboard and others won Sector 9 skate decks.    Check out our photo galleries from

4th Annual Survivor Beach Sunday, July 11

8-10am, at La Jolla Shores near Scripps Pier. You're all invited by the UCSD Luau &
Longboard Invitational  to support this local event.  This event is FREE and open to
the community with Polynesian dancing, souvenirs, and more.  Survivor Beach was
created in 2007 as a way to bring together individuals in the community to show
their support for cancer research and to honor all individuals in their fight against
cancer. ! At 9:30 a.m., participants will line up along the beach with their surfboards
nose to tail.  Bring your family, friends, and quiver!
